Artist's Comments
The reason the tree is "glowing" is that there are lighted Christmas decorations nearby. No flash; 30 sec. exp. time. I don't currently have a working tripod so my camera was lying on the ground for this shot.
It was the unusual lighting on the trees that attracted me to this one. Looks better than a plain old sihlouette.

The moon turns out best at between 1/125 and 1/500. Depending on aperture. Problem is everthing else turns out dark.

Your welcome I get to reading the comments, and then just do this once in a while.
I got this capture recently on a clear night here. [link] The stars are pretty much how they came out of the camera, I did a lot of work on the backgound to clean out the noise though. I think a narrower aperture might help get the stars a little more to a pin point on the next try.
I found out about the moon thing by shooting a photo of it in the late afternoon one time. Used a fast shutter speed cause of the daylight. Turned out clear as a bell.

HI. Would you mind if I used this in a grab bag feature that I am doing on my front page?
